Summer showstoppers

Summers are going to be better than ever this time, as fashion gurus say you don’t have to change your wardrobe upside down.
Summer showstoppers
Its time to stack away those woollens and revamp your wardrobe again. Summer is finally here and so are the worries of what to wear this summer in terms of hot haute trends. The good news according to experts is that not much has changed in terms of fashion as compared to last year, courtesy recession. So you can take out your clothes from last summer, mix n match a little and you will be raring to go.
Go the khadi way: Many fashion experts are all for for khadi this season.
1x1 polls
Says city-based designer Aruna Singh, Khadi is really going to be in this season. One can experiment a lot with the fabric as it feels very comfortable during summers. Khadi teamed with handloom fabrics like maheshwari or chanderi cotton makes for very good summer wear and looks quite elegant. Agrees designer Anita Tharyamal, Khadi is creating waves globally and it is very skin friendly during the hot season. Other fabrics that will hit the fashion scene are cotton, voil, chanderi silk (for evenings) and handloom fabrics.
Kurti ka kamaal: Kurtis have been stealing the limelight since last summer and as fashion gurus predict, they are here to stay. Kurtis flatter the India figure and will be in demand this summer too, says fashion designer Swati Ubroi. But salwars will make a comeback and so will pathanis and patialas. Says Anita, Short kurtis will be here this summer but anarkali kurtis will be out. Team up your kurtis with a patiala or pathani salwar to get the right look."
Dashing dresses and cool skirts: Try tunics and cotton dresses this summer, says Aruna adding, Tunics which have no defined waistline (fitted below the bust and A-line at the bottom) look great on Indian figures. Even skirts which are not fitted will be hot this season. But pencil skirts wont be out of fashion, adds Anita. Whats on top: Feminine tops like peasant tops will be in vogue say experts. Others like tank tops and draw strings that were there last summers too, will be a hit even in this season.
Colour me hot: White will be in as usual this summer. Team up white dresses with bright accessories in neon or fluorescent tinges. Anita adds that even pastel shades will be a favourite among youngsters and so will be yellow while Aruna votes for hues like turqoise blue and coral orange.
